Radiation and Medical Physics

Program Name Entry Requirement & Duration Modules
M.Sc Radiation and Medical Physics Five (5) credit level passes in chemistry, biology, physics, English and Mathematics.

A minimum of 2nd Class honours (B.Sc.) Degree in physics from Benue State University or any other University, recognized by the senate of Benue State University or its equivalent.

Evidence of NYSC/Exemption Certificate for Nigerian students

Full Time:minimum of three semesters and a maximum of four for full time students

Part Time: minimum of four semesters and a maximum of six semesters for part time students

Dissertation with three months Internship Inclusive.
1.  Mathematical Methods in Physics.

2.  Thermal and Statistical Physics

3.  Electromagnetic Theory

4.  Dissertation

5.  Physics of Radiation Therapy

6.  Nuclear Medicine

7.  Medical Biophysics

PhD Radiation and Medical Physics Five (5) credit level passes in chemistry, biology, physics, English and Mathematics.

Admission shall be opened to candidates who have a minimum of an M.Sc. Degree in the chosen area of specialization or its equivalent with a minimum of 3.5 grade point on a 5-point scale from Benue State University or any other University recognized by the senate of the Benue State University.

Full Time: minimum of six semesters (or three academic years) and a maximum of ten semesters (or five academic years) for a full-time student

Part Time: minimum 12 semesters (or six academic years) for part time students

3.  Physics of Radiology

4.  Clinical Physics Practicals

5.  Physics of Medical Imaging

6.  Seminar in Ultrasonic & Nuclear Medicine

7.  Seminar in Radiation Dosimetry Protection
