The newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University Makurdi, Professor Timothy Alabar has assured the management and staff of the Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER-MOAUM) of the support of the university management under his leadership to deliver on the mandate of the Centre. Prof. Alabar gave the assurance during a courtesy visit on him by the Management and staff of the Centre. He acknowledged the strategic relevance of managing a World Bank supported Centre in the University and promised to undertake a working visit to the Centre to receive detailed briefing on developments, milestone and initiatives at the Centre.
Earlier, the visiting CEFTER team led by the Acting Director of the Centre, Prof. Ogbene Igbum congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his well-deserved appointment and wish him God’s guidance and wisdom in the discharge of his duties. Prof. Igbum drew the attention of the Vice Chancellor to key governance and administrative structure of the Centre especially the Board of Governors which has the Vice Chancellor as Chairman. The Acting Director of CEFTER assured the Vice Chancellor of the commitment of Centre to support his vision and mission in the administration of the University.
In her comments, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Pricilla Utoo commended CEFTER for notable progress and sustained efforts toward target delivery. She encouraged the Centre to make greater strides toward making its research output and products achieve greater market visibility and market value.
Also present during the courtesy visit were the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Otor Eriba, the Registrar, Mr. Barnabas Hemba, the Bursar, Otse Egwurube, CEFTER Deputy Director, Research and Collaboration, Prof. Sylvester Adejo, Centre Secretary, Dr. Scholastica Banka, Project Accountant, Mike Zamber among others.
The visit underscores CEFTER-MOAUM’s commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration and reinforcing its mandate in research, innovation and capacity development.
