CEFTER BENUE STATE UVERSITY AND UNIVERSITY OF GREENWICH SIGN MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

The Centre for Food Technology and Research (CEFTER), Benue State University and the Natural Resources Institute www.nri.org, University of Greenwich, United Kingdom have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance research in Post-harvest loss and food systems for improved Nutrition.
Speaking during the signing ceremony at the Benue State University Senate Chamber recently, the Director Natural Resources Institute, Prof. Andrew Westby explained that the Institute has won Expanding Excellence in England (E3) grant to implement the Food and Nutrition Security Initiative project, known as FaNSI. He said sing a food systems approach, FaNSI will expand NRI’s interdisciplinary research capacity, working in collaboration with CEFTER BSU and other partner organizationsto address the challenges of food and nutrition insecurity, especially in Africa.
Prof.Westby stated that the signing of the MoU opens a window for both institutions to collaborate on mutual research focus and the union has created the opportunity for joint PhD between Benue State University and the University of Greenwich.
Responding, the Vice-chancellor, Prof. Msugh Moses Kembe expressed delight and appreciation to the University of Greenwich for choosing to partner with CEFTER to drive research in Post-harvest losses and waste which is the core mandate of CEFTER BSU.
Prof. Kembe said “this kind of collaboration will open doors of opportunities to our University on the World Stage.
