 RESEARCH ABSTRACT
1 TOPIC: Effect of Species and Storage Methods on Post-harvest Quality Attributes of Potato in Makurdi, Benue State Introduction: Potato is one of the crops with great level of consumption in Makurdi due to its availability and cheap price in comparison to Yam and other tubers. The crop is however challenged by high level of post harvest spoilage and deterioration leading to great losses. Several factors have been attributed to be responsible for this losses. However, there is great need for investigation into the most probable storage methods that will give the best post harvest quality with reference to the species of potato utilised. Objectives: 1. To determine the effect of storage methods on post-harvest physicochemical quality attributes of Potato in Makurdi, Benue State. 2. To determine the species distribution on post-harvest qualities of potato in Makurdi 3. To determine the effect of species and storage methods on microbiological quality of Potato in Makurdi, Benue State
